Dad,
I know you love to use the walking motif, so let’s talk about it. Walking is the means in which one uses to get to one place to another. Every little cog and gear in your body must be functioning to do so. Which you have stated. But, why walk? Why move at all? Why should one establish a destination? Well, it’s the ambition to do something greater, the excitement of new beginnings, and the people behind you telling you to go; that’s why you walk.
I run.
Without your daily un-questionable affection and support, I would not be able to walk. Without your guidance and wisdom, I would not be able to jog. Without your criticism and hard-lessons, I would not be able to run.
Soon, one day, I’ll be sprinting. When that day comes, I’ll look back, smile, and leave behind a trail for you to follow.
